We may grow in different directions,
yet our roots remain as one.
Each of our lives will always be

------------------------------------
The Abou Haidar family traces its origin back to the royal Arab Ghassanid kingdom. A Federation of tribes ruling an area that stretched from the (Euphrates river to the Jordan river an area encompassing what is today Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan). The kingdom had a total of 37 kings ruling for a period of over 600 years. (ref to al a'akd alfarid) making the royal Ghassanids the first Christian Arab kingdom in the Middle east.
Properly speaking, the royal Ghassanids were an Arab dynasty whose members belonged to a clan of the south Arabian tribe of (Azd), believed to have arrived in the Syrian desert about A.D. 250-300 and to have become the dominant confederation in the desert east of the Jordan and southeast of Damascus.
At about 1600 AD the tribe of Al-furayjat who lived in Houran - Syria had a young prince his name was Saadeh who had two brothers Abdul Massieh (Abou Ayoub) and Jerjus (Abou trad).
Sa'adeh himself had four sons: Haidar, Chalhoub, Freijeh and Chahine (abou kamal). Haidar was his eldest son . The people referred to Sa'adeh as (Abou Haidar) which translates in English to (father of Haidar). It was customarily to give the father the name of his first born son . this tradition continues to some extent up to this very day. An honor, assigning the eldest son with the position of resuming the authority of his father in case the father could no longer resume his familial duties.
Saadeh ( Abou Haidar ) was a very distinguished prince of the Ghassanids. he was a leader to his people. His brothers and later on all of his sons were using his name (Abou Haidar) in reference to his lineage. For unknown reasons he moved with his family and his men to the Beka’ valley at about 1625 , He was about 25 years of age.
